Question:
Assalamualikum kawan2,
Mohon penjelasannya....
terimakasih
Answer :
Wa alaikumusalam dear sister. The answer for this question can be found in the Quran in Surah At Taubah, verse 113-114. And this has been on my mind ever since my father passed away. However my father did not accept Islam before he died, infact he rejected it. But i still love him when he was still alive, as he has done a lot for me and my family.
But unfortunately, we cannot make du'a for the non Muslim who have passed away, but we can make du'a for the Muslims, who have passed away because they have something in common with us.
This might feel hurtful, and sometime its difficult for us to accept, but if the prophet was told not to pray upon his non Muslim relative or family, i think we should also follow suite, as He is our guide and teacher.
Allah knows best.
Question:
how bout pray to Allah(swt) to guide the non-Muslim the right way?
Answer 1:
Allah SWT do gives a lot pahala for those who invite non muslim to His path. and the final decision to open someone heart or not is still the right of Allah SWT
Answer 2:
Praying and asking from Allah to guide anyone to the straight path is definitely permissible because Allah's messenger made a du'a for Umar before he was a Muslim to enter into Islam.
I asked Allah night and day to make my family members Muslims, let them come into Islam easily and accept Islam totally and leave their wayward path. Day and night this is my heart, Allah knows best.
Allah subhana watallah has granted many favors and blessing upon me, alhamdulilah, my syukur is towards Him alone, and my mom and wife accepted Islam. They are Muslims already and I always ask from Allah that those who are Muslims having non Muslim family, to makbul their du'a by having their non Muslim family come to Islam and live this beautiful way of life.
one way i can share is that to perform tahajud in the middle of the night, constantly. How much do we want our family to accept us, how much would we want our parents , or one of them to accept Islam, is how much determination we have during our prayers and in tahajud.
Allah loves the one that perform tahajud after the daily 5 times solah.
Question:
adakah kita ni walaupun sebagai anak tak mampu berbuat ape akan dianggap anak deharka?
Answer 1:
hmm..personally as long as we're good to our parents, most of all, taqwa kepada Allah(swt) ,for what others see us is not important anymore..
Answer 2:
Kita tidak akan dianggap sebagai anak derhaka, because we choose to accept Allah and his rasul. Our non Muslim family also have the chance to choose their life and their believe before they passed away.
My father, i called him to Islam, but he said to me "Don't tell me anything about Islam". Our beloved Rasullulah salalahu alaihiwasalam had his uncle, Abu Talib. But even though Abu Talib protected him, took care of him and love him very much, Abu Talib still didn't accept Islam, the message that his nephew Muhammad salalahu alaihiwasalam.
He choose to still be a mu-shrik, but we choose to be Mu-Islam, Muslim. So, by Allah we are not consider derhaka, unless our parents are Muslims, and we disobey and they dislike us because of our behavior and our disobedience to them. But if our parents are non Muslims, and they dislike us being Muslims and they are angry, it doesn't mean we have disobeyed them, we have just obeyed Allah, who has more right upon us.
If we disobey them in term of religion, like they ask us not to pray, we must disobey them. If they ask us to join in their shirk, we must disobey them. But if they ask to sweep the floor, drive them to the market, carry something for them, we should obey them. Only in terms of religion disobey them, because this is a command by Allah, in the Quran, Surah Luqman verse 15
"But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do."
Question:
bagaimana lak law kite berdoa tok parent yg non muslim but still alive...can doa or not???
Answer:
If they are still alive, you can make du'a for them. The best du'a is to ask them to enter into Islam. While they are still being non Muslim, we can ask Allah to open their hearts, lembutkan hati mereka, can.. As for asking forgiveness for them.. if they are Muslims, and they've committed some mistakes, we can ask for forgiveness on them, however if they are non Muslims, and still committing the greatest sin which is partnering Allah (shirik), then do also question the need to ask for forgiveness.
Let me refer to an article in Islam QA, about the hadeeth by our beloved prophet Muhammad salalahu alaihiwasalam
Muslim narrated in his Saheeh (916) from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I asked my Lord for permission to pray for forgiveness for my mother, and He did not permit me. I asked Him for permission to visit her grave, and He granted me permission.”
This hadeeth makes it clear that Allaah did not permit His Prophet, who is the noblest of His creation, to seek forgiveness for his mother after she had died. This is what Allaah forbids in the aayah quoted above, and the hadeeth states this clearly. Al-Shawkaani said in Fath al-Qadeer (2/410): This aayah implies that there are no ties of close friendship with the kuffaar, and that it is haraam to pray for forgiveness for them, or to make du’aa’ for kaafirs in ways that are not permitted.
If someone were to say that Ibraaheem prayed for his kaafir father, as he said,
“Peace be on you! I will ask forgiveness of my Lord for you. Verily, He is unto me Ever Most Gracious” [Maryam 19:47 – interpretation of the meaning],
the response to that is what Allaah said in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“And Ibraaheem’s (Abraham) invoking (of Allaah) for his father’s forgiveness was only because of a promise he [Ibraaheem] had made to him (his father). But when it became clear to him that he (his father) is an enemy of Allaah, he dissociated himself from him. Verily, Ibraaheem was Awwah (one who invokes Allaah with humility, glorifies Him and remembers Him much) and was forbearing” [al-Tawbah 9:114]
Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: When he died, it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allaah. (Tafseer Ibn Katheer).
And Allaah knows best.
All: thanks for the answer :)
